What is doujinshi?

from what it looks...it's a fanart..fan fic...no matter you add original chara or so..it'll still be doujinshi if some elements of diff work is present....even if it's your old work....

can anyone tell me...is small published manga by a beginner or amateur is called doujinshi...or just manga by amateur?because someone told me...it is called doujinshi even if it's your own 100% original work....T_T.....*is confused*

[glow=blue,4,300]A doujinshi is basically a form of Fan Art, one that is based on existing series though there can be a mix of based and original characters and even crossings between different series.

Basically, in Japan, doujinshi are made by either fans and/or the Mangaka itself. It usually shows the story in a different point of view, a different storyline which deviates from the original and so on.

A note of interest is that people who write and draw doujinshi do not need to ask permission from the Mangaka and/or its publishing house. If someone loves a series so much to create a DJ out of it, then that's what they do and is considered extremely flattering.

If the work is 100% original then no, it is NOT a doujinshi but an original work from an amateur Mangaka. The term "amateur" refers only to the fact that said Mangaka is still very little known and has not yet published in the more reknown magasines.

Hope this answered the question a bit and that it wasn't too confusing. ;D

Oh you're kidding, right? LOL That's too priceless! Actually, the term that everyone use, 'manga', has become the norm to refer to a Japanese comic book.

Nevertheless, in actuality, 'manga' is but a word. 'Comic', 'comic book', 'comic strip', that's what 'manga' means so, in Japan, anyone be they Japanese or not, is a mangaka if what they do is draw comic strips and/or books! To them, Marvel and DC, all those American comic books are also manga! It's the word they use for a comic book of any style!

In the end, everything that is a comic from any countries are all manga is one goes by the true meaning of the word.
